So I got a $50 gift certificate to quickgifts.com from my former boss. I want books, and the two bookstores stores they are redeemable at aren't in Canada, so I'm using it at amazon.com. So far I'm getting The Eyre Affair (at the recommendation of psychoppepsquad), American Gods because I like but havent read enough of Neil Gaiman. And Lost (though that's still a maybe) because I liked Wicked (to which there will be a sequel in a month - Son of a Witch) and Confessions, and I'm about to start Mirror Mirror (which is what I bought with lalabob11's bday present - thanks!). I was going to get the third in the Chalion series (because I loved the first two) by Lois McMaster Bujold, The Hallowed Hunt but I dont want it in hardcover, so I'll wait on that one.

So, that's $25 out of $50 and I want recommendations. I've heard Robin Hobb is good, but I dont know which series to start with. I've read Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman, and I liked the humor Pratchett inserted, but when I tried reading something by Pratchett alone, the randomness was too much and prevented me from getting too into the story. If Pratchett has written something more like Good Omens, let me know. I've just started Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind and might continue with that series if I like it as much at the end of the book as I do now.

And I'm not limited to sci-fi. But I do prefer fiction to non.
