On Saturday, Nick and I saw Crispin Glover. He read a few of his books outloud on stage in front of a projected screen of each page. Then he showed his movie, What Is It? and held a Q&A afterwards. The movie was some weird combination of Shirley Temple with the swastika, killing snails, cast mostly with people with Down's syndrome. It didnt even begin to make sense until I the end where I could read the credits and found out what sort of characters people were cast as. There have been many films starring people without mental disablities playing those with them, but this was the first movie starring people with mental disabilities playing those without. Crispin signed one of his books for me.

On Sunday we saw Science of Sleep. There have been many movies about the idea of reality being a dream, but this was the first one about the idea of dreams being reality. It was really really well done, but I'm still trying to decide if I like it.

Between those two movies, I dont think I've ever furrowed my brow as much as I did that weekend.

Heather took Nick and I around the zoo yesterday (pictures)! We held a koala, and fed the hippos and rhinos. I havent been to the zoo in years. It was thrilling.

I shot my movie last week. It went okay, but I definitely learned a lot. I worked on two others (crewmembers' movies) and have three more to go (all this weekend). Then two weeks of editing, and we'll see how that goes. Things on my set went smoothly, but there's a few things that I'm worried about but I'm probably making too big a deal out of it.

Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more;
Hate less, love more;
And all good things are yours."
